To determine whether to overturn Principal Tonya Kings decision on junior Jim Stack hair, the school board will vote on Monday night at 7 P.M. Jim Stacks wants to grow out his hair to donate for wigs for kids with cancer.

“Not very many donate hair. Anyone can donate money, but it takes time and dedication to grow your hair and donate it.” Stack said

He plans on growing his hair to the minimum of the Locks of Love group who gives hair to kids with cancer and the  requirement is 10 inches.

“After I reach my goal of 10 inches of hair, I hope I can inspire more people in town to grow their hair and donate it.” Stack said.

The problem with this is that the boys student dress code is shorter than the shirt collar for boys.

“We have rules for a reason, and we can’t just break them anytime we want. The school would be in chaos then.” King said.

She doesn’t want one person breaking the dress code or else there would be more kids wanting to break dress code. She does however like the idea of him helping.

“There are other ways Jim could help Locks of Love group.”King said

Stacks could help by donating money, but Locks of Love needs hair more than anything.

“We desperately need human hair for our wigs. Every month we receive about 200 requests from families who cannot afford a wig for their sick child and every month we have to down about 150 of those requests.” president of Locks of Love Gisel Roco said.

The Locks of Love group is pleased with money but would much rather have hair and that Stacks hair would be a huge help.

“We will discuss it at the board meeting next week.” Bill Valdez

Poem of the day

‘Out, Out—’
BY ROBERT FROST
The buzz saw snarled and rattled in the yard
And made dust and dropped stove-length sticks of wood,
Sweet-scented stuff when the breeze drew across it.
And from there those that lifted eyes could count
Five mountain ranges one behind the other
Under the sunset far into Vermont.
And the saw snarled and rattled, snarled and rattled,
As it ran light, or had to bear a load.
And nothing happened: day was all but done.
Call it a day, I wish they might have said
To please the boy by giving him the half hour
That a boy counts so much when saved from work.
His sister stood beside him in her apron
To tell them ‘Supper.’ At the word, the saw,
As if to prove saws know what supper meant,
Leaped out at the boy’s hand, or seemed to leap—
He must have given the hand. However it was,
Neither refused the meeting. But the hand!
The boy’s first outcry was a rueful laugh,
As he swung toward them holding up the hand
Half in appeal, but half as if to keep
The life from spilling. Then the boy saw all—
Since he was old enough to know, big boy
Doing a man’s work, though a child at heart—
He saw all was spoiled. ‘Don’t let him cut my hand off—
The doctor, when he comes. Don’t let him, sister!’
So. But the hand was gone already.
The doctor put him in the dark of ether.
He lay and puffed his lips out with his breath.
And then—the watcher at his pulse took fright.
No one believed. They listened to his heart.
Little—less—nothing!—and that ended it.
No more to build on there. And they, since they
Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs.

Title: ‘Out, Out—’

Author: Robert Frost

In this poem the author used personification very well with the saw. He made it seem as if the saw knew it was supper time and ate the boys hand when he accidently got it stuck.. At the beginning when he said that the saw snarled as if it was an angry dog and rattled like a

My Sight

My sight is very important to me. Since I have my sight I am able to see my family, friends, and my dog. My sight helps me be able to play all the games I can now.

If my sight were taken away I wouldn’t be able to see all the cool decorations on cakes. I wouldn’t be able to play on a trampoline because I wouldn’t be able to see the edge. If I didn’t have my sight I couldn’t be able to ride my bike to a friends house because I wouldn’t know when to turn or when I get there. My sight is too important for me to lose.

Being in Missourri With My Family

We were getting packed ready for the seven hour trip.  We went to my aunts house put all the luggage from our car to hers.  When we get to my uncles house it is one o’clock and I’m glad because I can finally sleep.  The next morning my brother, uncle, and I played on the xbox for a little while then we all ate lunch.  We all spent time playing with my baby cousin.  At night my mom wanted to watch a movie.  So everyone watched with her. after the movie we went to bed.  When I woke up my brother and I snuck out to play on the xbox. when Rory and my uncle came out we all played with Rory.  The next day all the girls left to go shopping so it was just us guys.  We played on the xbox and went outside hoping the girls wouldn’t come back for awhile.   Then it was time to go back home when we got home it was around 7 and me and my dad played some games. Then I had to go to bed knowing that I had to go to school tomorrow. I did not care because it had been a fun Christmas break.
